Alison Burger

Alison is a co-founder of Optimistic Labs and is a Los Angeles based community catalyst who, over the last 5 years has a proven entrepreneurial track-record of building event-focused companies in addition to consulting with larger brands to architect community around their mission and shared purpose. In 2014, she co-created a mindfulness event series in LA, called The Shine Movement, growing the community from 12 people to 300 at each event. The Shine now produces live events every 6 weeks in 5 cities around the world, with a community of over 50,000 people. Following that experience, Alison launched the HABITAS membership program and two clubhouse locations in 2017, engaging the HABITAS community as the Director of Global Programming. 

Most recently, in 2018 Alison co-founded a community organization and social movement called WomenOfCrypto, focused on the inclusion of women in the blockchain technology industry. WomenOfCrypto hosted and produced conference events in Puerto Rico, Japan, NYC and Los Angeles featuring all female speakers and attendees. Previously, Alison had a successful 8-year career as a financial consultant and CPA, working at the Big Four public accounting firms for 5 years, and as a vice-president at a litigation consulting firm in LA where she specialized in financial forensics and obtained her CFF license.

Seth Cohen

Seth Cohen

Over his 20-year professional career, Seth has been a leader and advisor at the intersection of community design and impact. Most recently, Seth was part of the senior leadership team of the Charles and Lynn Schusterman Family Foundation, a global foundation focused on improving the lives, strengthening communities and reducing inequality. Seth served as one of the foundation’s Senior Directors, leading the Foundation’s global efforts to identify, connect and support networks of young adults to enable them to create experiences and communities for themselves and their peers. As part of this work, Seth helped develop purpose-focused communities around the world establish, and helped led the development of REALITY as leading travel experience for global leaders and change makers as well. 

Prior to Schusterman, Seth previously worked for 13 years as a nationally recognized Atlanta-based corporate attorney, most recently as a partner at the international law firm of Holland & Knight LLP, leading its Atlanta corporate and M&A team. In addition to representing clients ranging from start-ups to Fortune 10 telecommunications companies, Seth also received recognition for his commitment to pro bono legal services, including his work as one of the lead attorneys in a successful federal civil rights lawsuit protecting the voting rights of Georgia citizens. Seth has served as a committed activist in the local and national Jewish community, serving in leadership roles within a diverse array of organizations. An alumnus of the Wexner Heritage Program and a frequent author and panelist on a range of topics on Jewish life and innovation.
